New York State Unemployment. I need advice/input/suggestions.?

You quit your job, you do not qualify for unemployment. Your daycare issues are not your employer's problem, at all. Your odds of getting benefits are 0%.

You chose not to be unemployed. Yes, daycare is an issue. But unless you have resolved that issue, you are still not able to look for and accept unemployment. That's a major requirement to get benefits - not quitting and actively available for work. You appear to not qualify. I understand why you quit, but that is something that has nothing to do with the job.

So I wouldn't expect to win. I know that sucks, but that isn't what UI is for. I sure hope you reported the day care provider. A child could die.

If child care is an issue, you might consider looking for a job caring for another child. I can't help you with unemployment, but the real issue here is long term- you need a job you can do with a baby. Try looking for another child who needs a caretaker, for someone who makes enough money to pay you.

Please Please Please!!! I really want to know what to expect. I applied for unemployment in end of feb 2016. I unfortunately had to quit my job due to day care issue. I had no reliable child care. So I applied and was denied, I called begin of april to check the status because I havent heard anything back at that time. I was told that a notice had been sent out 2 weeks prior but never recieved anything so she sent out a copy of decision. I sent an appeal because I feel that I am entitled to benefits, I was at this job for the past 4 years. So today I had my appeal and I am a little nervous what to expect. Judge stated that I will recieve decision by mail in 7 days. Can someone shed some light or tell me what my odds are getting benefits. FYI I have been searching high and low for a new job that fits my situation. Also to add the child care issue was due to me taking my son out of the day care that he was in because the child care provider would constantly wrap blankets around my sons mouth when he cried, he was only 4 months when he stared day care up until he was 6 months thats when I took him out. Any parent would know exactly how I feel when I come home from work and my son comes home with things wrapped around his mouth. Thank you in advance for your responses.
