Here's how you can do it without any math:

At 5 oz each, there are about 3 bananas (a little more than 3) in a pound.
At 69¢ a pound ( = 3+ bananas), one banana costs a little less than 23¢.

3 bananas @ 5 oz ea = 15 oz (almost 1 lb)
3 bananas @ 23¢ ea = 69¢

Answer:
One banana costs about $0.22 (which is a little less than $0.23)

1 lb = 16 ounces

Amount paid for average banana
= [(0.69 cents) / (16 ounces)] × (5 ounces)
= 0.215625 cents
≈ 0.22 cents (to 2 decimal places)

We know that,
1 lb = 16 ounces

Paid amount
= [(0.69 cents) / (16 ounces)] × (5 ounces)
= 0.215625 cents

1$ = 100 c.

Average banana price 5 oz

= $0.69 / lb * 1 lb / 16 oz

= 5 * $0.69 / 16 oz = $0.22.

$0.22 * 100 c / $1 = 22 c.

You're paying 22 c average banana.
