find the slope, if exists, of the line containing the pair of points.
(5,1)(6,-8)?
a). the slope m =_________
b). is undifined
回答 (5)
Well,
the slope of the line containing the pair of points. (5,1) and (6,-8)
is
m = (-8 - 1)/(6 - 5) = -9
hope it ll help !!
Slope of the line
= (y₁ - y₂) / (x₁ - x₂)
= (-8 - 1) / (6 - 5)
= -9
The answer is : a). the slope m = -9
Rise = -8 - 1 = -9
Run = 6 - 5 = 1
Slope = rise/run
m = ( -8 - 1) / (6 - 5)
m = (-9) / 1
m = -9
