How much oxygen would be needed to react with 1kg of hydrogen? Explain your answer?
回答 (2)
Molar mass of H₂ = 1.008 × 2 g/mol = 2.016 g/mol
Molar mass of O₂ = 16.00 × 2 g/mol = 32.00 g/mol
2H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂O
OR: Mole ratio H₂ : O₂ = 2 : 1
No. of moles of H₂ needed = (1000 g) / (2.016 g/mol) = 496 mol
No. of moles of O₂ needed = (496 mol) × (1/2) = 248 mol
Mass of O₂ needed = (32.00 g/mol) × (248 mol) = 7940 g
Equation:
2H2 + O2 → 2H2O
2mol H2 reacts with 1 mol O2
4g H2 reacts with 32g O2
1000g H2 reacts with 1000/4*32 = 8,000g O2
