Pinned behind enemy lines in a swamp near Vung Tau, Vietnam, we were taking heavy casualties from mortar fire. Blood and death surrounded us.
We finally got air support in and they unleashed tons of napalm. A good deal of it landed in our swamp, and we were between drowning in the filthy muck or exposing ourselves to having our flesh burnt off.
For 20 minutes, it was back and forth, ducking into the fetid water, coming up for air and slowly roasting our faces , neck and shoulders off.
Only 5 guys out of the platoon made it out alive. Boone and Hendricks both shot themselves within 4 days of being in the hospital. They couldn't endure the pain of the 2nd and 3rd degree burns.
I toughed it out, but lost both ears, an eye, and most of my nose.

the day when my mom died

Around 30 years ago I was travelling through a small town on my motorcycle. The car ahead of me signalled right to turn into a store parking lot and pulled over. I passed the car on the left and never gave it another thought.

About a mile or so down the road I was impacted from the rear 1/4 by a car going at a high rate of speed and thrown over the car onto the pavement.On impact my helmet split in two and fell off.

The car that hit me was the same vehicle I had passed. The woman driver had followed me and witnesses claim she accelerated into me.

And that's NOT the scary part. She exited her car and screamed at me - got back into her car and proceeded to make another run at me. A couple of witnesses grabbed me and dragged me behind a light standard.

Seeing my car broken into in the middle of the night

When something like that happens, and you're not prepared for it, it will scare the sh*t out of you. In fact, it will change your whole perspective on safety and other people.

Some guy put a gun in my face and stole my belongings. Actually it was 2 guys.

-I saw my Future stretching out before Me... And I Thought; " OMG ! -I gotta go THERE ??! " ;)

Seeing my nudity the first thing in the morning!!

EVEN BEFORE I'VE HAD MY MORNING COFFEE!!!
