Let x be the multiplier.
Then, the molecular formula = (CH)ₓ

The molar mass :
x(12.01 + 1.0079) = 104
13x ≈ 104
x = 8

The answer is : b) 8

From the atomic masses
C = 12 , H = 1 . Hence CH = 12 + 1 = 13

104/13 = 8
Hence molecular formula is C8H8

CH = 12 + 1 = 13

104/13 = 8

C8H8
