REAL QUESTION: If a party nominee for president is indicted, does the VP nominee automatically get tapped as the presumptive nominee?

Or do they need another convention to pick a new presidential nominee?

Just wondering, how important Hillary's VP pick is. Would they automatically become the presidential nominee if she is indicted and forced to drop out.

No. until the convention, it can change the Nom based on a majority vote. After Convention, party leaders can make changes.

Even if indicted, a candidate can still run. Remember, indictment is not a conviction.
To have an indictment, you have to have a good case, which so far doesn't exist. Even if the possibility exists, it would be highly improbable it would happen before the election.

Depend on when the indictment happened, but under the assumption you are asking about Clinton, if the FBI delays much longer it will seem a partisan ploy to press charges unless the proof is iron clad.
