Can I change Windows Vista to Windows 7?

I have my product key for Windows Vista, can I do anything with it to get Windows 7 for free?

Sadley what you're wanting is impossible, Microsoftt anounsed 2 months before Windows 10 was released that Windows Vista will not get the free upgrade to any higher Version.
I also do recormend you don't try and install a Windows 7,8, or 10 installation disk on your Windows Vista machine since Windows Vista does not have the proper components and software to run such a heavy operating system.

no no free upgrade but vista machines do upgrade to windows 7 even 10...
check to make sure your system can support at least 4 gig ram and has a dual core...
if not toss it out! we are way past single core days with 2 gig of ram...
it shall make a good linux machine to learn linux on but forget the upgrade if it's not up to

No, the Update from Vista to Windows 7 is NOT free.
But, you may still be able to buy a Windows 7 OEM DVD, for about $99 CDN,
Then, if your old Vista PC meets Windows 10 hardware requirements, you can Upgrade to Windows 10 until July 29, 2016.

No - but you might be able to get a Windows 7 install disk or upgrade disk and a new activation sticker from eBay. It will cost "something"...

No. Windows 7 is no longer for sale by Microsoft, and to buy a version of Windows 7 elsewhere would be a gamble. There are no free upgrades from Vista to Windows 7 form Microsoft.
