Unbalanced equation: I⁻ + NO₂⁻ → I₂ + NO

Oxidation half equation: 2I⁻(aq) → I₂(aq) + 2e⁻ ...... [1]
Reduction half equation: NO₂⁻(aq) + 2H⁺(aq) + e⁻ → NO(g) + H₂O(l) ...... [2]

[1] + [2]×2, and cancel 6e⁻ on the both sides :
2I⁻(aq) + 2NO₂⁻ + 4H⁺(aq) → I₂(aq) + 2NO(g) + 2H₂O(l)

====
Unbalanced equation: ClO3⁻ + SO₂ → Cl⁻ +SO₄²⁻

Oxidation half equation: SO₂(g) + 2H₂O(l) → SO₄²⁻(aq) + 4H⁺(aq) + 2e⁻ ...... [1]
Reduction half equation: ClO₃⁻(aq) + 6H⁺(aq) + 6e⁻ → Cl⁻(aq) + 3H₂O(l) ...... [2]

[1]×3 + [2], and cancel 6e⁻, 6H⁺(aq) and 3H₂O(l) on the both sides :
ClO₃⁻(aq) + 3SO₂(g) + 3H₂O(l) → Cl⁻(aq) + 3SO₄²⁻(aq) + 6H⁺(aq)
