Good quality cameras for youtube vids??

Find a camcorder or point and shoot still image camera that happens to capture video as a convenience feature (like something from the Canon Powershot pocket camera line) that fits your price range, add a tripod and lighting... all the cameras in your price range will provide similar quality video under similar lighting conditions.

As the capture device price increases, the lens diameter increases and the imaging chip size increases. Both help with low light problems... The option to spending more on the camera is to add light. This can be as simple as getting some clamp lights from the hardware store and setting them up correctly... I use camera-mountable LED video lights... Your budget won't deal with these.

Your budget is not going to cut it especially since newbies think the camera is all they need. You also want:

* tripod
* light kit
* Audio recorder + microphone
* Video editing software

The Canon Vixia RF-700 is about $250 and is the cheapest that has the flip-forward screen & microphone input that you will need.

they are sold at walmart photo center, and also digital camcorders that record onto hard disks and sd memory cards.

With cameras, good quality and cheap do not go together most of the time but you can try this.
