Molar mass of CaCl2 is 110.9840 g/mol
Mol CaCl2 required = 1mol/L * 0.5L = 0.5 mol
Mass CaCl2 required = 0.5*110.9840 = 55.492g CaCl2 required.

Molar mass of CaCl₂ = (40.08 + 35.45×2) g/mol = 110.98 g/mol

then
500 ml needs 111 x 500 / 1000 to make 1 M

Use this equation M means morality (M= mole/volume) substitute the givens make sure to convert ml to L if the answer needed is in grams then (molarmass×mole) gives you the amount in grams.peace

1M means 1 mole per litre (mol dm^-3)
So 1 mole of calcium chloride is dissolved in sufficient water to make 1 litre.
500 mL is half (0.5)(1/2) litre.

So dissolve half a mole of calcium chloride and add sufficient water to make 500 mL .

Mr(CaCl2) = 40 + (2x 35.5) = 111
mass(CaCl2) = 0.5 moles x 111 = 55.5 g.

So dissolve 55.5 g CaCl2 in say 250 mL of water. When dissolved add sufficient water to make 500 mL .

NB Adding 55.5g to 250mL will increase the volume because the dry mass of CaCl2 will also have a volume. .
