問問有關現在完成式的Problem?

Tom對我講"I applied for a Chinese test yesterday." ，之後我同佢講"Why have you applied for the test?" ，我用現在完成式是想反映Tom 由昨日到現在為甚麼已經申請該個中文考試。想問問該個case 用現在完成式有無問題。

Tom has applied Chinese Test for (case)----- a period of time.
--------------------------------------since (case)------a point of time in the past.
It shows a period of time for Tom up to and including the present so Imperfect, not perfectly !
Why so early technically, not the aim in when applying for the Test ?

你用完成式提問，是在問＂為什麼已經＂申請．是在問她＂申請的時間"需要那麼早？
而不是在問＂為什麼要申請的目的＂．
若是只要知道＂申請的目的＂就該說：
Why did you apply for the test?
or
Why do you apply for the test?
