can vegans eat bread?

Most bread is vegan. but its one of those things that vegans have to be careful about.
Some breads have added butter, or milk or eggs.
I've noticed that hamburger buns sometimes have added milk.

If you are buying store bought breads just check the ingredients. If you are at the bakery ask the baker. You won't be the first to ask since there are both kosher laws and allergies involved. If you are at the restaurant ask your server. He should know but if he doesn't know than you might want to skip it - a lot of dinner rolls have added butter.

French bread is always safe. I think there is a law (in France) that french bread can only contain water, yeast, flour and salt. Also I think sourdough bread is always safe.
