A cylindrical vessel of length 50.0 cm has an internal diameter of 3.48 cm. If this vessel contains water up to a height of 18.8 cm, what is the volume of water in the vessel?

Volume of water

= Volume of the cylinder that water occupies

= π r² h

≈ 3.14 × (3.48/2)² × 18.8 cm³

= 179 cm³ (to 3 sig. fig.)
