My mom has been asking me about part time jobs and what not. My best friend wants a summer job to make her own money. My plan for the future is to go into something that has to do with children. My best friend wants to be a doctor..possibly a pediatrician do she sill be working with kids. It will be good practice to get use to them.
My dad is not on board. His first question was "Who'd hire two 14 year old girls who can't even drive legally or work at dollar general yet?"
And "How would you get their and get back?"
He said he thinks I don't need to be working yet. I think i could do it. I think we could do it.

Being 14 doesn't mean you can handle anything. Do you have baby siblings? Have you changed diapers? How old are the kids you'd babysit for? Do they have any special needs? Have you had any sort of first aid training, or babysitting course? Are you reliable? Can you cook? Can you mix baby formula? Can you make hot dogs? Macaroni and cheese?

There are a thousand possible questions, and none of them have anything to do with your age. You can't just say you're 14 so you're old enough. You need to say why you are qualified. When my kids were babies we knew other adult parents that we wouldn't trust to babysit them.

I agree with your dad. Even at 16, many parents are still hesitant to hire you. Why hire 14 year old when there are many 18-22 year olds who are available, can drive, more experienced, and charge a reasonable price?

Wait 2-3 more years. Try to get money for doing chores/small odd jobs.

you could do it. But if you don't want to tell ur mom its too hard to find a job at ur age.
