How Easy Would Learning Italian be if You Know Spanish?

I've just finished Spanish I, and I plan on taking three more years. If I were to quit, I would only be able to quit after finishing Spanish II. Since I've always been drawn more to Italian, I was wondering exactly how difficult it would be to learn it after taking Spanish? Just from looking at their words and songs, it looks substantially more difficult, but I'm not quite sure. I do learn languages quite easily, if that factors into anything.

Very similar languages. The Italian spelling may take a little getting used to, you have to learn a new system. But the grammar and much of the vocabulary is very close to Spanish.

Being fairly fluent in Spanish, Italian is the easiest European language to learn. It's not difficult, and it's quite beautiful and musical.
