what is the mass of 10.2 L of ammonia (NH3) at stp?
回答 (2)
From Wikipedia : Molar mass of NH₃ = 17.031 g/mol
Molar volume of NH₃ at STP = 22.4 L/mol
No. of moles of NH₃ = (10.2 L) / (22.4 L/mol) = 10.2/22.4 mol
Mass of NH₃ = (10.2/22.4 mol) × (17.031 g/mol) = 7.76 g
one mole of NH3 at STP occupies 22.414 L
10.2 L / 22.44 L/mol = 0.45507 mol
0.45507 mol times 17.0307 g/mol = 7.75 g
Or, you can use PV = nRT
and calculate moles, then multiply by the molar mass.
Using 22.414 works only at STP, using PV = nRT works at any T and P.
