Say for example if a young couple wanted to get married but couldn t afford a "traditional" wedding in a curch so they get married in a court room. A few years later they have enough money to throw a "traditional" wedding and invited all their family and friends. Can they still do so?

They RENEW THEIR VOWS, they don't remarry. Although you can remarry someone you've divorced.

Of course. It happens all the time. You can call it a renewal of your vows. Many churches are delighted to do that, and no place is going to turn you down if you want to pay for a reception.

Technically no. You can't re-marry someone you're already married to. People have vow re-newal ceremonies though, or might choose to throw a big party and have a ceremonial marriage because they didn't have a big one the first time, but it's 're-marriage' because they are already legally married.

Yes, you can spend a lot of money on a big wedding, years after you're already married. Seems to me by that point though, the money would be better spent on a vacation or set aside for retirement.

SURE! You just don't need to file the papers like you did for your first one, and your legal date of marriage is the first date you were married

There's no law against it. Lots of people have a second ceremony. I'd rather use the money for a vacation myself.

Of course they can't. Getting married means that two single people become a married couple. Married people can't get any more married than they are already.
