I was born in the late 80's so I've been gaming for a long time....But I think VR would be cool to try...

At this point no because the technology haven't caught up with expectations. When we say vr we think the holochamber from the Star Trek series not that stupid gear we wear on our heads.

We expect to be able to interact with the environments not just watching a tv screen that's plastered to our heads.

With the vr set accommodate people who wear glasses.

What does having kids have to do with having an opinion / answer to your question?

VR was a fad in the 90s, but the technology wasn't there yet to make it "mainstream". It had low frame rates and gave people headaches. See the VirtualBoy for a piece of tech meant for home-use that wasn't yet ready for prime time.

Now that technology has picked up in 20 years, VR is getting a big push again. It's still really early as only one or two headsets are out. Sony still hasn't released yet, rumors are Nintendo may be getting into VR again. And other headsets are announced but not yet available. It's only a matter of time before we see if it's successful, or only another 90's-like fad.

Depends how good it is with the games that it works with so it should be good for Star Wars battlefront but bad for mario

Yes, although we already have XP, vista, windows 10. Such breakthrough would be amazing.
I would stick with windows 10, for now.

I think it will - the technology is just at the right point now.
Back in the 90s, there was the Atari Jaguar, but the latency was too much.
As soon as VR mixes with a system like Kinnect, it'll rocket!

I have kids, and have to play my games after they've gone to bed.

Yes. A lot of major companies are already testing the waters with VS and already creating a competition in the marketplace. From what I have seen, those who have access to these products love it.
The only problem may be pricing for now, so it may take some time to ease in along with the rest of gaming, but I am almost certain it will become mainstream soon enough.
