Kitten problems, please help.?

2016-06-06 12:34 pm
First off, vet is not an option. The only way the vet could help is by euthanize because I have absolutely no money and no support otherwise.

The kitten is 4 weeks old. It drinks water from a bowl, won't touch hard or soft food, but will nurse when the mom lets it. Sometimes, it will go into fits where it starts crying, gets very wobbly, and drags itself along the floor. When it does this, it will nurse if I put it next to the mother (I often have to sit there and pet the mother to get her to stay) and will quickly go back to normal. Is the kitten dying? What could be the problem? Is there anything I could do? I don't need to hear "take it to a vet!" anymore, because I can't. The entire litter has died except this one, but I don't want to bury another kitten.

TOO LATE to make yourself anonymous. you are Almostover9000 and almost every cat question you have asked I am posting links to.
You are what the Pet section likes to call a back yard breeder.

These questions were opened into a new tab before you decided to hide behind the blue face anonymity feature because, "You can't handle the truth."

A responsible pet owner would have gotten their cat spayed before the first litter.

The fact that you have said that you have to hold the "queen" (mother cat) down just so the kitten can nurse, is a clear indicator that she knows there is something wrong with the kitten. Four weeks old and he has to drag himself across the floor is NOT okay.

You should have taken the kittens to the veterinarian weeks ago. That is the best only option for the kitten.

No one likes putting down animals but sometimes it is the most humane thing to do for them instead of making them suffer.

And to be honest if you had been a responsible and taken them to the vet weeks ago, the vet could have saved the kittens including this one, but you Almostover9000 did not take them to the vet. So it is your fault.

Almostover9000 you have options:

1.) Workout a payment plan with the vet. Talk to the vet and explain your situation calmly and ask nicely about working out a payment plan. You could end up paying at the most half of the vet bill now and the rest at the next vet check up. Or doing a payment plan where you pay a specified amount each month until the bill is paid off.

OR

2.) Take your pets to the local shelter vet and get a vet check up there and they are a lot cheaper than the regular vet.

But did Almostover9000 ever try to take their pets to the vet? Nope, they just ask complete strangers over the internet and when people tell you that you need to take your pets to the vet you just get argumentative and call people names.

You know what Almostover9000 when you commented under Ellen's answer and said and I quote:
"Are you autistic or something?"

End quote. That is RUDE and INSULTING, to people who have Autism. You are being reported for that comment.

Borderline troll question with the lame excuses, nasty insults and now making all your questions anonymous. Yep that is exactly what an internet troll does.

Be responsible and take your cats to the vet or surrender them to a humane society or someone who will take them to the vet.

And that is why the pet section refers to you as a backyard breeder.

You know, your attitude about the vet needs to stop, you've had 4 kittens die, and a mother cat that won't nurse for some reason. You shouldn't have pets at all if you can't get them vet care, that's like having a child and refusing to take it to the pediatrician. But it's too late for that, so I'll tell you the only thing you can try, and should have known to try before she ever gave birth, and the others may not have died.

You need to go to Petco or Petsmart or whatever you have in your area and buy KMR mix. It's kitten milk replacement. It has the nutrition a newborn kitten needs when mother won't nurse, which is why they all died and this one is dying. Get a feeding syringe as well because you can't use a spoon. Follow the directions on the package to mix it with water and fill the syringe. You're going to have to feed this kitten many times a day if you want it to live. Go now, do not wait another second Petco opens at 9:00.

And then take your cat to a free spay clinic after the

The fact that it nurses doesn't mean that it's well fed,. Sometimes the mother's milk is too watery and the kittens starve despite drinking the milk. Buy a can of powdered cat milk and feed the kitten with the bottle that comes with it (all right, you say you don't have money, but I'm sure you can afford a can of powdered milk). If it doesn't help, it might mean that the litter suffered from a contagious disease.

1. Take the mother to the vet.
2. Bring the kitten along.
3. Ask what can be done.
4. Honestly, it might be best for the kitten not to try to live.
5. Get the cat spayed.

If that isn't an option then you need to rehome the cat and the kitten. This is a cat that should have never been bred in the first place and she should never be bred again.

If you refuse to take the cat to the vet then you need to rehome them. And never get another cat.

This kitten sadly has genetic problems. Its likely it will not survive long. Sorry but the ONLY answer is to take to the vet - there is nothing you can do at home and things will get worse and the kitten will suffer.

You know you need a vet. Couldn't you gather some money to pay the vet's fee? Use some money to pay off vet's fee, so it will get proper treatment it deserves to have.

A 4 week old kitten is way too young to eat solid food. It needs its mother's milk on a regular basis. If that's not possible, pet stores sell kitten milk. If you can't afford that, the only kind thing to do is to find someone who can afford to care for the kitten.

The kitten will die, it sounds very sick, do not have animals if you cannot afford vet fees, or get some pet insurance, you do not deserve animals. Save up and get the mother at spayed!!!

Either feed the kitten yourself or let nature take its course. There have been cases of mother cats actually eating their young....we don't understand just why. The mother is rejecting the litter..all you can do is nurse the kitten yourself.
2016-06-06 12:39 pm
Hate to say it...but if the rest if the litter has died and this one alreay isnt doing well, it'll likely die as well. I know you dont want to be told to take it to the vet, but how exactly do you expect strangers on the internet to tell you whether or not your kitten will be alright? We cant physically examine your kitten nor are we as educated as a vet is.
