長者只要於該年度年滿70歲，便可於該年 1月 1 日起使用醫療券。所以你在2017年1月份已可使用；合資格長者是無需事先申請、無需預先領取醫療券、無需攜帶醫療券的；這個計劃的設計是盡量方便長者，因此長者不須預先登記，合資格的長者在有需要接 受醫護服務及使用醫療券時，只需向已登記的醫療服務提供者出示身份證，並簽署同意書，便可使用醫療券。
