If we really want equality, then women should be drafted until they reach parity in numbers with men in the military.
Or don't feminists want that much equality?
I don't care about that issue since it would be politically impossible to actually have a draft and there is no real benefit to anyone to change the existing policy. It has no practical value only symbolic and its symbolic value seems to be one of a cynical message against women's equality rather than supporting it, kind of like "you want to be equal to men? Well here's a bad thing that men have to do, enjoy it b!tches."
No! Men have been shot all to hell for centuries in order to protect their women back at home, their children, and their babies. If you are going to put your women on the battlefield and have them all shot to hell too then you have nothing to go home for, and there is no point in fighting for nothing. You have mostly all gone crazy and need to dial it back about one hundred years before you go off the deep end.
Yes, but it entails a problem in that the military has been attempting to equate women with men with respect to physical strength. That's ridiculous! However, when it comes to courage and the ability to endure psychological pain, women are at least equal to men and, in my opinion often superior. I can hear the men out there calling me a traitor and a wimp. That's okay; they don't know my history. However, both from a psychological and physiological point of view, it's been shown that women are stronger. In modern war physical strength isn't nearly as important as it was when we hacked each other to death. For the males who may read this, Margaret Mead, a famous anthropologist, said that women should not be permitted to participate in war because they were too violent. Thank God, for some crazy reason they seem to like me......probably because I'm a wimp.
Women have served in various forms in the Military for decades (centuries?) and perform admirably in the jobs they are typically assigned. I do how every not believe they should be in many Combat Arms MOS's BUT if they do apply and meet the SAME standards as a man, then you know what let them.
Should females be included in a draft if there ever is one again? I suspect if there is ever a need for a draft again, there will not be a choice of if to include women or not, because if there is a need for a draft in this day and age, we would be involved in a massive world wide conflict and every able bodied person would be needed to either fight or produce.
If there is a draft in the future yes, however there is hasn't been a draft for decades now.
There is a difference between registering for Selective Service and actually being drafted.
yes, i support you joining the draft
