Why has having surgery affected my lungs? What's wrong? What should I do? Pain/tickle taking deep breaths. Coughing and a little wheezing?

I had my tonsils out 8 days ago. Almost immediately after surgery after I got home I noticed my lungs kinda ached if I tried to breathe all the way in.

I'm 400 pounds, so I figured I just needed to exercise my lungs a little and it was because of the general anesthesia. So I did deep breathing and coughing exercising trying to expand my lungs.

8 days later and it's still here. More of a tickle down that makes me cough when I breathe in. Sometimes it's like there's a tiny bit of fluid/wheezing in there but I can cough and clear it and then there's nothing.

No phlegm or productive cough. No fever. I'm recovering well otherwise.

any ideas?

That is because when you are under anaesthetic they stick a tube down your throat to make sure you can breathe properly all the time. That tickle and discomfort is where the tube irritated the bronchial tubes. It passes in a couple of days.
