Is quality of life more important than quantity of life?

At this time quantity is most important but should I become struck down with an incurable, painful illness that caused me to need care with no quality of life then I would most likely wish for a smaller quantity.

It's massively dependant on two things: how you see quality and quantity, and the person you are.

If you see quantity as an average, long life and quality as an ambitious, slightly shorter life then I suppose I would go for quality, as you gain more out of the life you lived- so much, in fact, that you might as well have lived twice as long as any other life.

But if you see quality as a 'YOLO' 'Sleep all day party all night' thing- no. Quantity. It is good to spend your life virtuously but not to waste it away.

And, as for the person you are...
If you love to take risks and delve into adventure, a life of quality is what you should strive for. If you are humble or fairly content with your life, cautious of your days and future, quantity is key.

For myself in particular, I try to balance the two, though I believe I lean towards quantity due to a personal... 'Fear', of sorts, of time. Just thinking too deep, I suppose.

Quality of course.. With quality, you can gain quantity.. But then you could argue the same by saying the opposite since you have then more opportunities in life

Yes, depending on what you do in your quantity and if it will increase the quality.
People want more quantity to improve quality because you have more time to get more done.
Some people loves the 20 years they lived and some people hated the 90 they lived. Maybe they loved it until they reached 89.

Quantity can never replace quality in my opinion.

Some can gain a great deal of quantity in a very short period of time. Some can enjoy a great deal of quality over a long period.

Perhaps it's more about balance, but life without quality isn't providing much in the way of purpose other than posponing the inevitable.

quantity of life because may be ,we dont know a person of quality will come in from high probability. A one person which can innovate/invent and make a good future quality life for human kinds.There is a balancing here. We need also quantity for production in the line of agricultural.
