IF you bought from a REPUTABLE BREEDER these are questions he or she should be asked, or should have provided in an information folder that was sent HOME, WITH your puppy, as well as a sample bag of the current puppy FOOD (or again written info on what food was being fed, HOW OFTEN & how MUCH in a partial measuring cup, per meal) and a written health guarantee.
I am unaware of ANY dogs that "ENJOY" being shampooed. Dogs should NOT be washed unless truly dirty (or you will dry OUT the coat) and should ONLY be shampooed WITH dog shampoo. NEVER use a human product = (TOO PH different & drying)!
Ask your vet to recommend a product FOR your puppy (ask when & how often to bathe the puppy) IF you don't feel you can ring up your breeder for that information and ask whether you need to use a coat conditioner. Your vet needs to start your puppy on vaccinations (if the breeder did NOT give the first set at 7 weeks) and needs to give your puppy an EXAM to be sure your puppy IS 100% healthy. puppy also needs to be started on heartworm & flea/tick protection. You have a very short WINDOW (aka puppy lemon laws) to return the puppy if it is NOT healthy, due to any congenital DEFECTS.
