At 1727C, K = 9.7 x 103 for,

2 CO(g) + O2(g) <--> 2 CO2(g)

If at equilibrium the partial pressures of CO2 and CO are equal,
the partial pressure of O2 is?

a. 1.0 x 10-4 atm
b. 1.0 x 10-2 atm
c. 9.8 x 10 atm

✔ 最佳答案
2CO(g) + O₂(g) ⇌ 2CO₂(g) ...... K = 9.7 × 10³

At equilibrium :
K = P(CO₂)² / [P(CO)² × P(O₂)]

When P(CO₂) = P(CO) :
K = 1 / P(O₂)
9.7 × 10³ = 1 / P(O₂)
P(O₂) = 1 / (9.7 × 10³) atm
The partial pressure of O₂, P(O₂) = 1.0 × 10⁻⁴ atm

...... The answer is : a. 1.0 × 10⁻⁴ atm
