P₄(s) + 6Cl₂(g) → 4PCl₃(l)
Mole ratio Cl₂ : PCl₃ = 6 : 4 = 3 : 2

No. of moles of PCl₃ formed = 0.970 mol
No. of moles of Cl₂ needed = (0.970 mol) × (3/2) = 1.46 mol
