my boyfriend is embarassed of my age.?

me and my boyfriend have been in a relationship for a year and a few months and i today found out that at the start and during our relationship, we nearly stopped dating be cause of my age,im 15 and he is 18.
i found this as a big shock because i never really thought that he was the bothered about our age gap, but in sme ways it makes sense because i have never met any of his friends and i am pretty sure they dont know about me.
but overall i was quite upset about it and im not sure what to think so some advise would be really good.

to clarify i didnt mean we nearly stopped dating i meant that he nearly stopped dating me

If he truly loves you he'd look past it and be happy for you. If not and he says he wants to seperate because of that, be confident and just go look for a better guy later on.

It's because he could be charged for using you for sex, and because there is a social stigma for having a younger gf

He could be charged with grooming a minor for sex.
That could be a cause of concern

It's natural for him to be a little uncomfortable about you being so young. I don't think you should over react or make it a big deal. You can't help your age, but he can't help how he feel. Just accept that it's a sore spot and move on. If you stay together long enough, that age difference won't be as important or noticable.
