GIRLS ONLY: first time using a tampon?
So,I'm new to periods and I've never used a tampon, only pads. I really don't want to wear tampons but I'm going to the beach soon so I'll have to wear tampons since pads are not very safe when wearing a bikini. So,I have a few questions, please answer as meticulously as possible :)
1) Can I try inserting one when I'm not on my period just to practice?
2)Does it go in the whole With lips around it (gross,ik)
3)What happens if the string breaks?
4) Do I need to completely shave my pubic hair around the hole area?
please answer all of the questions above.
Thank You! :)

1) No, don't practice. It will be painful to take out since it will not be full. If you mean practice putting the applicator in, and not releasing the actual cotton tampon inside, then go for it. Never actually put the tampon itself in when your not on your period, but you can put the applicator in to practice.
2) yes. The hole is NOT the hole you pee from, it more toward your butt hole. If you can't find it, place your finger at the beginning of your vagina where you pee from and move your way toward your bum. In between you should be able to find a hole that you can insert a finger into.
3) the string WONT break. This is extremely rare! But if it does, take your pointer finger and thumb and insert them into your vagina and feel for the tampon. Pinch the tampon and pull it out.
4) No need to shave, that has nothing to do with inserting s tampon.
you are right to think about wearing tampons whioe swimming. Before you can insert a tampon you will need to break your hymen, this will allow the tampon to slide right in. when wearing it you shoupd hardly be able to feel it. Yes you can practice inserting a tampon before your period. Probably best to start by using an applicator tampon at first, as that will help you get it in the correct position. when you insert the tamponput one foot on the edge of the bath or on the toilet seat
1. There is no harm in practicing putting in a tampon. You may want to start with the smallest size since you're not used to sticking things up there.
2. Yes, it goes all the way in. As a matter of fact, if you don't put it in far enough, you will feel it and it will be very uncomfortable. If your fingers are touching the outer rim of your vag (NOT the lips, but the skin underneath) your tampon is probably in far enough.
3. I have never had a string break. Tampon strings are very tough and made to be pulled on so it's unlikely you'd find yourself in that situation. If it does happen, you can try pushing it out by tensing your inner vaginal muscles. But again, that is very rare.
4. You don't need to shave at all, hair does not get in the way of tampons.
