The central atom is Te. The central Te atom are bonded to 6 F atoms by 6 Te-F single covalent bond, and there is no lone pair of electrons on the central Te atom.

According to the VSEPR theory, the 6 bond pairs of electrons on the Te atom must be arranged in the shape to minimize the repulsions between the bond pairs of electrons. Therefore, the 6 bond pairs of electrons should arranged octahedrally, and thus the TeF₆ is an octahedral molecule.
