Take all downward quantities to be positive.vₒ = 0 m/s
a = g = 9.81 m/s²
t = 2.5 s
(a)
s = vₒt + (1/2)at²
s = 0 + (1/2) × 9.81 × (2.5)² m
The height it fell, s = 30.7 m
(b)
v = vₒ + at
v = 0 + 9.81 × 2.5 m/s
Final velocity = 24.5 m/s (pointing downwards)
