Good classical music with cellos?

I'm normally listening to metal and rock music,but I've got kind of a soft spot for classical music,especially songs with cellos in it. Any good ideas? I'd prefer no vocals be included.

Tchaikovskys Rococo variations!!! And Hadyns Cello Comcerto! Also Elgar cello concerto is in E minor (already listed) is my favorite ever!! Absolutely beautiful

Hi, first of all, you need to be very specific if you ask for classical music. "Songs" DO mean things meant to be sung.
Here's something that you might like since it combines classical with rock--Julian Lloyd Webber is cellist (the composer/arranger Andrew Lloyd Webber's brother).

I do not know if this is what you are looking for, but I absolutely love a group called Vitamin String Quartet. They are a tribute band and they cover a wide range of music both Christian and not Christian and all over the genre scale. They instrumentally cover songs from classical to hardcore rock and they do it all with string instruments. They cover songs that are popular hits on music charts as well as songs that are not popular hits on music charts, but everyone they cover is a professional in the music world. They have tons of cds and covers. I currently have 34 of their instrumentals on my iTunes. A few I have not heard the originals of but I absolutely loved it when I was listening to the samples on iTunes, so I bought them. I love Vitamin String Quartet and definitely recommend them.

String quartets include a cellist. Check out about a hundred string quartets and you'll start to develop favorite composers.
I'm pretty pedestrian in my tastes as to string quartet artists - Julliard Quartet.
As to composers I like the moderns Bartok and Schoernberg and the classics Mozart and Hayden.
