Why are there so many atheists on this site?

I'm not saying I'm a believer in Christ, my beliefs doesn't matter in this. But why is that every question in the religion category has atheists answering with hateful remarks towards the Christians? Like seriously why do you worry about what other people believe in so much. You guys take God wayyy too personal. Its like when you find out a person believes in God you immediately hate them and try insulting their beliefs.

This of course works both ways. how often do we get religious fanatics (always Muslim or Christian) telling atheists we are all going to "Burn in Hell" or some equally unpleasant fate for our disbelief...?
As an atheist I will never "insult your beliefs".....that's up to you - but please don't tell me I am some kind of 'bad' or 'unworthy' person because I don't share your religion.
The worst example is how Islam preaches hatred and death to all non-Muslims (Christianity in a lesser way) but hey..! This is how millions of people are actively being 'taught' that this is a the way to live your life !

Because theists keep asking us questions....like this one....I come on here not to be disrespectful to theists but to put some people right...like the young girl who was told by her pastor that we atheists eat babies....she was scared to take her baby nephew out in case one of we "wicked" atheists ate him.....This is a wicked thing to say.....others say we have no morals and kill people....also terrible and totally untrue.

I'm here because I find religion, as a social phenomenon, rather interesting.
The fact is that all kinds of people believe all kinds of weird crap, and I think that's fascinating.
Then they try to justify their beliefs with convoluted reasoning, and it baffles me why they do it.

Why do you not know what an atheist is‽
ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God – any God – not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion that does not have a god and there are a lot of those!
Like BUDDHISM – Religious teaching from Buddha and his followers that by destroying greed, hatred and delusion (the cause of all suffering) man can attain perfect enlightenment!
And sadly you appear to realise there is only one religion involved here!
the problem is not anything to do with atheists, God, Jesus, the bible, or even Christianity and all to do with the intolerance, hatred, bigotry, homophobia and persecution posted by BAD Christians towards others!
ALL the other religions and atheists live in peace and are ONLY attacked by BAD Christians which causes all GOOD Christians to despair at the damage they do!

Atheists want to be witness to the evolution of 'religion'
as the evolution of 'religion' continues to make it more and more pointless in every moment.
This is what scares christians about 'evolution' ... and seeing their inability to stop it, is worth it to an Atheist.

There are many atheists everywhere. But unlike theists, we don't work our thoughts on religion into things like discussions about consumer electronics, automotive repair, or mathematics. This is a place meant to discuss religion. So here, we discuss it.

- Tell that to the people who were refused a marriage license because a brain dead fundie who did not even know their own bible violated their oath of office to FORCE everyone to their way of thinking.

There are so many atheists here probably because there are so many questions to or about atheists here. Like your question. Why do theists worry so much about other people not sharing their beliefs?

I don’t think you understand. When one utterly despises and hates God (Rom 1:30), forums like this provide a much needed therapeutic outlet to vent the ever present gut-twisting, vitriolic hatred that constantly boils up inside such people.
Also, as places like this forum are the Mecca of Atheism, it’s about the only online spot that provides encouragement for utterly ridiculous anti-religious viewpoints that otherwise would be scoffed at and ridiculed in the real world outside this forum. As athee-evos have few other places available to openly go without appearing to be complete nutcases, they find a solace and camaraderie with their fellow athee-evos here gleefully thumbing down any answers other than “There is no god” or “Which god?”, or using filthy and obscene language to make a point (which for many, they find impossible to communicate without).
Have a little compassion and give these poor atheists a break. Before you atheists thumbs down and comment, let me first say God bless you (1Pet 3:9).
