No it's not illegal, I buy them regularly (I'm 16). Parents are against them because they have high amounts of caffeine, which is bad for your heart and can cause high blood pressure. Also it affects sleep patterns and they have much more caffeine than coffee. If you have them rarely, then there's no problem. It's like alcohol with adults. It's not illegal, but binge drinking is discouraged due to health effects.

no its not illegal but its extremely unhealthy and the caffine is addicting. its not a horrible addiction, but its just a pain in the *** because you need it to start the day and they aren't cheap. its really just a money waster. but being an artist, and spending long nights sometimes its a good boost. make sure its moderated because im not kidding- spending 600$ or more a year for energy drinks is annoying as hell

It is absolutely legal. However, some helicopter parents are against them because caffeine is recognized as a drug and although provides no euphoria but can provide just enough energy at time when needed so automatically it is bad. Some consumption liberals at the supermarket won't sell them to minors for these reasons as well. I am not completely sure why they are so looked down upon though.

No its not there is no law anywhere stating that I believe you can't give it to kids under 5 though (but who in there right mind would)

I'm a teenager and drink loads of them there pretty nice actually and parents are against them mainly because of the fact that most kids get really hyperactive after having them but lots of kids are pretty chill you just have to pick 'em out

also the other thing is the health risks but there not severe if your not drinking more than 2 a day hope this helps!

I don't think it's illegal, but parents and medical people are against them because they're just liquid caffeine, really, with tons of sugar.
Yes - they give you a bit of extra energy, but it's very short-term, very bad for you, terribly unhealthy, and too much can kill you. They're also very addictive - caffeine is a drug.
