Can hourly employees be paid for holidays when the office is closed and for when the employer takes vacation?

I know it is not required, but is it common or seen?

The employer usually doesn't take vacation, or at least doesn't close the business when they do.
It is quite common to offer holiday pay for holidays if the business is closed on a day it would normally be open.

Paid vacation is common, especially if there is a union. Not usually for holidays, though.
