The things you actually wanna learn will stick with you, school is just a bunch of writing and life knowledge, and math is useless unless your doing a job focusing on it

Simply remember not to forget.

Learn for yourself and not for your teacher, or by the book's way.
That is, fit each learning to your own interests, purposes, and "memory pegs framework" (what you can classify to yourself).
Pay special attention to the parts that are most important TO YOU and fit the rest of the pieces around those parts.
Use pencil and paper methods (writing things down) to enhance your memory through mechanical process, your art work, cognitive aids, and later possibly reviewing what you have written down.

Be attentive, take notes, study, quiz yourself. You're never going to remember everything you've ever learned but doing those things will improve your memory
