What would happened a 13 y old who set fire to school bathroom with intent of hurting people?

They would go to a mental facility & have a psych evaluation. Depending on assessment she will be processed & placed in a juvenile detention center until a hearing before judge. 13 year olds don't go to prison. Also depending if anyone was injured or loss of life would effect the amount of time placed in juvie Tell your friend not a good idea. Your as guilty as your friend if you allow this to happen without contacting the proper authorities.

She'd be arrested and do time at a juvenile detention facility. A prison for kids under 18. Arson is a serious felony and carries a long prison sentence whether you're a minor or adult. Find another outlet for anger besides lighting fires in a school and hurting people.

What should happen is that the kid should be expelled, at least suspended for weeks. What would happen in this touchy-feely world, who knows. YOU should get a new friend and drop that loser. As the saying goes you are who your friends are. There's a lot of truth to that.

Why would your friend want to do that? However angry she is feeling arson will get her a criminal record for life. A permanent solution to a temporary problem. Life feels awful at 13 but your friend won't be 13 for ever

I think you need different friends.

She will be arrested.

She may or may not be tried as a juvenile.

Even if tried as a juvenile, it doesn't mean she'll go free at 18. She could be committed to a psych hospital for life.
