ran out of dog food?
i usually feed my dog a certain brand, but i just realized when checking before bed i dont have enough for him, i only have purina left... i dont like purina, i don't think its good for dogs, but will it be ok to feed him that until i get home from school and buy him new food?

I wouldn't. He'll survive until you come home with the proper food. In the future plan more wisely.
For one or two meals, it will work in a pinch. If you have any of the other brand left, I'd mix that with the purina to stretch it out a bit and not make a sudden switch.
It's better than nothing. think of it this way. If you're out of food in the house for yourself and only have enough money to get a combo meal at the local fast food joint until you get paid the next day, you'd do that since while it may not be the healthiest...it's still better than going hungry.
Using the cheaper will be like that. It's junk food but it'll hold him until you can get him the good stuff.
I'd cook up some rice and add either beef (mince?) or chicken if you have any in the house. I'd not give him any new commercial dog food much as I have done a switch with mine, without any dire results. I guess you could risk giving him a small amount of Purina for breakfast and more tonight, when you have a new supply of his normal food.
You could also just give him tinned dog meat this morning.
yes & its NOT you who has to eat the dog food anyway .
A small amount should be good for now. Suddenly switching the type of food you give to your pets can cause a stomach ache and possibly cause diarrhea or vomit. Don't worry about that too much, they stop feeling sick after a while, so long as you only give your dog(s) a little bit (enough to get through the day though)
Better than nothing, as another answer mentions... and better than human food if you can avoid it.
