Why would anyone come here expecting to get good advice to their questions?

I do & I have because I only ask sensible/genuine Qs.Users asking dumb things like Dear Abby Qs and trolling cannot expect to get serious answers.

We don't give advice...we give answers. I tend to give GOOD answers to GOOD questions...and will, on occasion, get rewarded with BEST ANSWER.

Most of the questions on this forum are from IDIOTS. There is little to NO monitoring...simply because Yahoo is NOT a serious company anymore. They don't care or support this.

This site used to be a good place to come to until Yahoo let the trolls in.
There are many categories that people ask good questions and get good advice, but if you're referring to P&S you will never get good advice.
You just have to find the right category.
Some people treat this site as a game to get the most points or best answers, just like playing a video game you play to win so think of this site like that.
Now you will only get good advice if you ask a good question..

I would never expect good advice but sometimes you do and its nice to find out peoples opinions

There are some older people here that have knowledge or wisdom regarding certain subjects..They may want to try helping others
so they have life easy.Maybe some can learn from others mistakes.

Well for one you are anonymous so that makes the comfort level of revealing issues easier. Also its a lot of people here that may have had same experience as you therefore can shine some informative light. The same way they have trolls and weirdos they also have people that can help at times. That's where the power of discernment comes into play separate the fakes from the reals

There are many different categories to choose from. The advice to questions can be fact based backed up with solid proof or it can be an opinion.

Good question, i have often wondered that myself.
I guess they are too lazy to do own research.

Perhaps they don't have anyone to talk to. Or think a stranger is able to provide an unbiased opinion.

If you are asking fact seeking questions, then the record of YA is very good. You can find many PhDs in the science categories who are willing to really help. If you are asking opinion questions, it is buyer beware.

Because people are fools

Because some answers are not available on google. For example, a guy wanted to know how to cheaply heat his house. Awarded Best Answer was from me, "hook a pipe to your mother-in-law".

It is easier to ask or answer cuz u dnt see or really know the person and are thus comfortable..

Beats me. I just come here for a laugh. Because that is all this site has been brought down to be - a laughingstock.
