Let w= log base 2 of a? solve the expressions in terms of w?

√ log base 2 of a^2 = √2w

So Log₂(a) = w, by definition of Log₂, a = 2^w

I know the answer which is √2w just not how to set up the problem to get me to the answer

Actually, you already know the answer,
w = log_base2 a,
means, a = 2^w, thus, you have a in terms of w.
You solved it!

w = log₂(a)
Do you mean √(log₂(a²)) = √2w, or √(log₂(a²)) = √(2w) ?

√(log₂(a²)) = √(2w)

square both sides
log₂(a²) = 2w
2log₂(a) = 2w
log₂(a) = w
a = 2^w
