My dog thinks I m getting on to her when I tell her to do a command?

My dog is an American bulldog/pit mix and she s 23 weeks old. She knows sit, down, stay, come, and paw. When I would be training her, she starts out very good and does the command happily and I tell her "good girl" and sometimes treat her after every time she gets it right. I use a light voice. If she doesn t, I tell her nothing and we try to get it right. After a few commands, she would start to tuck her tail and tinkle a bit (like, a little pee spot) as if I m getting onto her but I m not. How do I get her to know that I m not upset? I train for at least 10-15 minutes a day.

Dear lord, I never hit her, and I have been using a calm voice. When she gets scared, I end the training. Context clues: use them.

It sounds like your dog has a very submissive nature and possibly gets a bit over anxious when she can`t quite grasp what you are trying to teach her.
She also possibly "senses" your frustration ( even if you don`t think you are showing it) her for not understanding what you are trying to convey to her and this along with her submissive nature is why she acts as she does.
Dogs can be really astute at picking up on an owners body language and demeanour even if its very slight and you are unaware that you are displaying it.
My dog can sense my moods just by my general posture and this can be quite annoying at times!!
You do right to end the training sessions on a good note, but you cannot unfortunately change the way your dog behaves as its her genetic nature to act like she does.
Lots and lots of OTT praise when she does things correctly may help though.
Also, not ALL dogs take to training easily and your dog is still very young and her confidence could increase dramatically as she matures.
Hope this helps a bit.

Reduce the training time to 5-10 minutes, more frequent short sessions, 3-4 times daily, instead of one longer session. Always end the session on a good note.

Perhaps practice just one command each session instead of so many different ones. Dogs are individuals, just like people, try to find what works best for your individual dog.

If she's tucking her tail and peeing you're scaring her! You're being either too loud or too forceful with your commands. And don't ever hit her!
