Isn't it reality that Democrats are more regressive and not progressive as they claim?

Democrats push society forward while republicans are timid to do that. They rather stick with the status quo.

What are Democrats regressive about?

No we aren't the ones who want to eliminate both the minimum wage and estate taxes for the wealthy!

Then there is also the issue of the republicans wanting to protect the profits of the for-profit medical industry!

Of course, they are constantly pushing for some of the oldest forms of government on the planet. The US fought against tyranny and oppression, they had a revolutionary war to get away from a socialist dictatorship...so what do Democrats say in response, "the US is the only modern country that doesn't do *insert ignorant socialist program here*, it's time we catch up with the rest of the world!" They literally want us to follow the leaders into old, outdated government ideologies. That's about as regressive as you can get.

Progressive for their own entitlements and pensions, and regressive to anyone who owns a business or tries to get ahead. The value of those NY state pensions makes most millionaires, but if you point out the numbers then you are the greedy one.

People are different, and we should not overly label them. But, in general, based on the people that I really know, I do agree that Dems are more regressive. Even when they use a progressive label, when I look at what they are pushing for, it is not even close to progressive the way that I understand it. They are more for government control than personal liberty and freedoms.

No morals leads us backward, no religion also leads us backwards, lying about things also leads us backwards. I would say they are regressive and not progressive as they claim.

Obviously they want to undo all the progress since the renaissance economically, technologically and in terms of government control of our lives. They've been fooled into thinking that pandering to specific groups with government-granted privileges is somehow progress not realizing that government-granted privileges can just as easily be taken away.

"Progrressive" is just a word. Just because you call yourself something doesn't make it true. Liberal North Korea calls themselves "democratic". Is that true?
