please help how long should I hold it?

im sing the star spangled banner and I want to hold out the word "Free" but how long would be to much and just get annoying please help

Sing it for people, and see what they think. ask the people in charge of wherever your singing it what they would like. (I get to sing it too at some fairground event in August, so excited! :)
