How do you make, or where do you buy, a sheet of sugar glass for filming. The scene is two kids stuck in a car and a man smashes the car window to get them out. However because I have no budget to break an actual car window, I was thinking of making/buying a sheet of sugar glass (or other easy to break glass look-a-like) and placing it on the window (while the actual window is wound down) and then having the man smash the fake glass.
Is there another brand name/ type of glass I should be searching when looking to buy?

You might also be able to get a low cost windshield from a junkyard. Although, one thing to keep in mind is that car windshields won't just shatter into pieces when hit. They're engineered to stay in one piece or maybe several large pieces so that in accident people don't get hit with flying shards of glass.
