Xbox one games with gold installed but not purchased?

So I JUST bought my Xbox One. I started to download my collection of free games with gold such as Child of Light and etc. as well as previous ones like Dark Souls. Dark Souls is installing now and does NOT have a "Buy a copy" button, where as Deer God and Child of Light DO have this button available. Could somebody please explain this for me...?

I have had Gold for a couple of years now. I have not once tried to download them without having gold. That issue came up once, but I renewed before attempting. To summarize my question: I bought an Xbox One. I go to games & apps area. Dark Souls is there and I hit install. No buy function. CastleStorm same thing, but the definitive edition can be installed OR bought. So do I get them full or a demo? I'm just really confused here

Dark Souls is an Xbox 360 Game with Gold, and those are permanently added to your account as if you'd bought them. There's no need for the purchase option, and you'd be able to download and play the game even if you don't have Gold. Same goes for CastleStorm.

The other games you mentioned are Xbox One Games with Gold, which are added to your account but stop working if you no longer have Gold. Because of this, they give you the option to buy the game so you can still play if you let your Gold expire.

If you downloaded any game with Gold they are yours forever and stay in your download file. I download all of the free games on the 360 and One and erase them later if I don't play them or need more space. The others may show up in the download again section later.

Did you already have a Gold membership and download those games while they were the current Games for Gold? You can't download previous Gold games, unless you already downloaded them or at least "purchased" them (for free) while they were current.
