ISIS was created after the Bush invasion of Iraq and the political and military void left there. Most all of the initial ISIS members were ex-Iraqi military and police who were disbanded and left out of the new US backed government.

Osama Bin Laden has almost nothing to do with ISIL. All of the failed nation states in the middle east due to failed wars of liberation are the cause. teenage boys without a chance for a future in the current world try to create a new world.
