Yeh I was pushed into playing the trumpet when I was about 9 or 10 and played in the school band. I seem to remember as being fun but as soon as I was old enough I gave it up and took up the guitar.
Despite joining a band and all of us thinking we were rock gods we were pretty crap so gave up. That was twenty years ago. I still play guitar, but now for myself and my friends. Not because the stage awaits.
I have played a musical instrument.
Yes, don't laugh, the Great Highland Bagpipe.
I played Solo and in a band that was actually quite successful, winning many competitions.
I also have been known to pick at a guitar and sing a bit.
Alas, I am no David Bowie, I put on some make up like Ziggy Stardust once, but t just hurt my Mum and DAD.

I learned how to play the Guitar since I was 7 and I love it! It is a Takamine Guitar, great sound to it. Still play it from time to time. I also know how to play the Bass guitar and am currently trying to self teach myself the harmonica. It is so much fun. You get to meet different kinds of people when you bring some instrument to some gathering. And it is so peaceful once you get some of the chords down. A lot of the old songs is just four chords and they are played over and over again. Just change the tempo a little.
I have 4 guitars (2 electric and 2 acoustic) and practise every day for at least an hour. Been doing that for nearly 40 years. Still not as good as I'd like to be.
I've played a music instrument in my Middle School years and for part of my High School years.
Yes, as a child my mother wanted me to play the violin, which she herself was able to play. After some tuition I gave it up for being a lad, I wanted to do other things. As I grew up I developed a love of music, and ever since I have regretted my decision not to continue with my violin tuition. Of all the instruments I consider that the violin has a soul, and in the hands of an expert can easily reduce one to tears.
It has a magic that can never be surpassed.
I started playing piano at 8 years old. Every couple of years I would learn a new instrument. I'm not proficient at any of them because I was always so interested in learning a little of everything that I never had time or dedication to master 1 or 2. I always wanted to teach school band or orchestra though, so learning all the instruments is required for that prodession. I currently know piano, clarinet, saxophone, flute, trombone, trumpet, violin, cello, double bass....and I can noodle around on many other brass and woodwind instruments.
My daughters play violin and cello. I'm trying to get them to stick with one instrument for a while, lol
I have but it wasn’t long enough to say I’m a professional at it. I did try out instruments since elementary school where our music teacher would tell us to try out something new. Then in middle school, I got piano lessons which lasted only for a day because I wanted guitar lessons instead. I never got band which kind of hurt me, but I accepted the other elective because even I chose that. This year, I got a totally different elective than what I picked out last year. I accepted it, too, and I didn’t cry over it because it is interesting as well. There are 3 electives which I only got one. I didn’t exactly get the one I wanted (it wasn’t band, though, I would try that one someday; it was another elective), but I enjoyed it as the year went on. I can’t believe the school year is about to end. Of course, I’ll miss everything fun and new, but I’ll say my goodbyes as usual. I do this every year. I hold onto some while I just let the other years go quicker.
Hah, I’m just a typical person with a unique quality, too.
I enjoy music because I love to listen to music and find out new songs. I am not saying I'm obsessed with several as I hear them everyday, but I’ll say I like to search for deeper music with cool instruments. Some meaningful while others have an awesome symphony. As long as it is quality music, I listen to it. I also wish to try out more musical instruments because all my life, I had seen several and played with very few. I never did actually get to learn the entire instrument and how it is used—or get to practice a few songs. So, I’m quite unhappy about it.
