I like how it blows and drys but it's a little loud. I'm afraid that all the noise right next to my ear will damage my eardrums.
Also is there any possibility of your hair catching on fire while bow drying? I always thought that would be kind of a cool (hot) experience but didn't want people to think that I'm crazy
How can you make a blow dryer be quieter?

It's the motor of the dryer. Nothing u can do to make it quieter.

The answer is simple, buy a quieter hair dryer. Which of course means going somewhere that has several models on display and plugged in to feel and hear them. And more likely than not, it will be professional models vs consumer models, that are going to fit your want.
