The Japanese are incredible people and very skilled. They have been at it for a long time with their incredible aircraft in WW 2 and after when we rebuilt their industrial capacity. I owned a 1963 Honda motorcycle and that thing was bullet proof.

Honda has been working on their reliability for decades. The Chinese may eventually get there. but for now their metals are often of questionable quality and the labor inconsistent.

Japanese are paid real wages. Chinese labor is paid slave wages. That combined with Japan's phenomenal post war industrial track record assures that most Japanese products are well designed, engineered and assembled.

You pay for with a generator. Hondas are expensive, but really nice. Chinese ones are ****, but way cheaper.

Japanese products use higher quality materials and have stricter quality control on the assembly line. They are assembled by skilled/automated labour.

Chinese products are very often outward similarity to Japanese products (i.e. they are rips). However , the materials are usually cheap/low grade, the production tolerances are often more "generous" and they are assembled by mostly unskilled or semi-skilled labour.
