Here is a poem I wrote years ago about mothers. You can use whatever you want from it.
Care - written by me
She picks you up when you fall down
She holds you near when your world turns upside down
She flies with you on her wings
When you lose your voice then for you she sings
Mothers house you when you grow
then they birth you and teach so you can know
They can show what’s right
They can sing the perfect song
They still need our love even when they do wrong
They sing
They laugh
They dance
They swing
They make half (of the parental whole)
They prance
You have a gift when you have a mother who cares
Your heart won’t go adrift when your life has her and she shares
her love with you
not to be taken lightly but every day viewed
as something brand new
Treasure it if you have it for you will miss it if it goes
Hold it close in your heart and watch as the feeling grows
Time will tell if that gift is real
It won’t ring a bell
It won’t come addressed with a seal
Instead it comes like a gentle summer breeze
It’s there to stay if it is real and it won’t make you ill or sneeze
We have a special jackpot when we have a mother’s love
We never have to look it up
to know its defining moment is from Heaven above
